What is it like working with the Academic Counselors?

Great, I'm actually very close with all the advisors. If one wasn't available there was always another one just as knowledgeable and willing to help me with whatever I needed.

The attention and support I received from the advisors was also phenomenal. They listened to me when I wanted to discuss career options, endured my ever-changing preferences for majors, and guided me to ensure that I could still graduate on time. I even visited my Exploration advisor when I was no longer in the program anymore and needed advice on possible elective courses. She still recognizes me and calls me by my name, despite not seeing me as often as she used to. I know I can always consult her if I ever need anything.

I met with my academic counselor at least once a quarter just to discuss classes I was planning on scheduling and any new ideas I had about majors I was considering. We also emailed back and forth several times whenever I had questions about certain majors. My counselor always replied to my emails promptly and with informative answers to my questions. She did not choose my major for me…she just helped me clear up the millions of questions swimming through my head and provided me with resources to further research majors I was interested in!

My relationship is very good.  Because our academic advisors teach our survey class, students see their advisors frequently and are automatically invited to develop a successful working relationship with them.  My advisor has been patient with my exploration process and she's an amazing resource when it comes to exploring all of the colleges at Ohio State.
