What are the benefits of starting Ohio State as an Exploring student?

My experience in University Exploration has been successful, I would say! The survey class was highly helpful to me; getting to hear representatives from all of the colleges talk about their majors was so helpful and opened my eyes to many majors and educational paths available that I had never thought about. Who knows how long it would have taken me to discover my minor if I hadn't been in the Exploration program, because that is where I heard about it!

Exploration allowed me to make an informed decision, but it is incredibly important that students understand that it isn't a magic fix. Coming into the university undecided and going into the Exploration program doesn't magically tell you what you will be interested in – in fact, I'm still exploring the different business specializations. You must actively pursue different options and find your interests.

My experience in University Exploration can only be described as a glorious adventure. I took classes that met my General Education Course requirements in the most creative way possible. For example, I took Bible as Literature, Art, Psychology, and Comparative Studies all within my first year. This truly allowed me to explore my different areas of interest while building a knowledge foundation for my subsequent classes.
