Opportunities for Freshmen

Honors and Scholars

Ohio State's Honors and Scholars programs offer unique opportunities for students of all majors to enhance their undergraduate experience.  Students in University Exploration are eligible to be members of University Honors and all of the Scholars programs.

The Honors program encourages students to develop a rigorous academic curriculum and engage in undergraduate research.  The Scholars programs provide an opportunity for students to develop a strong community of like-minded students regardless of academic major.

University Exploration students who have been members of Honors and Scholars in the past have included recipients of the Eminence scholarship for undergraduates as well as prestigious awards for post-graduate studies such as the Rhodes, Truman and Marshall scholarships.  For more information about applying to the Honors and Scholars programs please visit their website http://honors-scholars.osu.edu/.

Learning Community

Being a member of the Exploration Learning Community offers many benefits.  Not only do you get to live in the same residence hall as other students who are discovering their academic and career aspirations, but it also gives you access to unique resources.

Learning Community members have a clustered Survey course with other LC members, they have access to weekly walk-in advising hours in the residence hall, and targeted programming to expose members to a variety of different majors and career options.

Being a member of the Exploration Learning Community is a great opportunity to learn more about all that Ohio State has to offer while also learning about what you want for your future.
